Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern use of the OffWatch mobile application ("OffWatch", "the App"), operated by Offwatch Social Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17242018, with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. The App is currently in development; once it becomes publicly available, using it means you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility

OffWatch is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. Access is expected to require identity/age verification via a third-party verification provider before full use of the App is permitted.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure.
  • You must not create an account on behalf of someone else, or misrepresent your identity.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including the acceptable use rules in Section 4.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use OffWatch to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Post unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful content.
  • Attempt to circumvent identity/age verification.
  • Interfere with the operation or security of the App.

5. Reporting and moderation

OffWatch is expected to include in-app reporting tools. We may review reports and take action — including warnings, content removal, or account suspension/termination — at our discretion, in line with these Terms.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Certain features may be offered on a paid subscription basis, billed through the relevant app store (Apple App Store / Google Play) and managed via our subscription management provider, RevenueCat. Pricing, any free trial period, billing frequency, and cancellation instructions are displayed at the point of purchase in the App Store / Play Store checkout flow, and are governed additionally by the applicable store's own terms. You can cancel a subscription at any time through your App Store or Play Store account settings; cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period except where required by law or the relevant store's refund policy.

7. Content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you submit through OffWatch. By submitting content, you grant us a licence to use it as necessary to operate and provide the App (for example, displaying your profile to other users). The OffWatch name, logo, and app itself remain the property of Offwatch Social Ltd.

8. Disclaimers

OffWatch is a platform for connecting people; we do not conduct background checks beyond the identity/age verification described above, and we cannot guarantee the conduct of other users. You are responsible for exercising judgement in your interactions with others, including when meeting anyone in person.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Offwatch Social Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the App, including loss arising from your interactions with other users. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud. Subject to that, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or £100 if you have not made any payments.

10. Termination

You may stop using OffWatch and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, as described above.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App.

12. Changes to these terms

As OffWatch moves from development towards public launch, these Terms will be revised — most significantly once legal review is complete. Material changes will be dated and, once the app has launched, notified to users through the app.
